Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Noon Supervisor at the Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role covers student days only, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, totaling about 10 hours per week.

The position includes eligibility to accrue sick leave under the Michigan Earned Sick Time Act, at a rate of 1 hour per 30 hours worked. Key duties include supervising students on playgrounds, lunch areas, classrooms, and campus as directed; enforcing behavior standards; organizing playground activities;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be in good health and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have a good attendance record.
• Must possess good decision‑making skills.
• Must be flexible in work assignments.
• Must demonstrate sociability and warmth toward others.
• Must pass background checks and comply with state/district requirements for working with students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students to, from and on the playground, in lunch areas, in the classroom and on campus as directed by the principal or their designee.
• Enforce playground, lunch area, and campus behavior standards.
• Organize and supervise playground activities.
• Acknowledge and reinforce desirable student behaviors.
• Report serious problems that arise due to behaviors or injuries to the main office.
• General duties as assigned by the principal or their designee.
