ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking experienced News Writer/Producers to join one of the nation''s top local news teams on an as-needed basis. You will write accurate broadcast scripts, produce dynamic newscasts, and manage multiple elements from story selection to timing.

The role requires strong newsroom writing, fast-paced decision-making, and flexibility to work overnights, mornings, weekends, and holidays. Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of television news writing and/or news producing experience.
• Strong broadcast writing skills and editorial judgment.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Flexibility to work overnights, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news coverage.

Responsibilities

• Write scripts and produce newscasts and news segments.
• Build engaging rundowns and shape editorial content.
• Edit video and booth live newscasts.
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, editors, directors, and assignment desk teams.
• Cover breaking news with urgency, accuracy, and creativity.
