Job summary

Willamalane Park and Recreation District in Springfield, OR, is hiring a part-time Volleyball Coach for middle school programs. You will lead skill workouts, organize practices and games, and supervise youth participants with an emphasis on safety and fair play.

The role requires a high school diploma and four years of relevant experience, plus First Aid/CPR. Strong communication with youth, families and staff is essential; a background check and drug screen are required due to safety

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent and four years of experience in community education, parks and recreation, or related area which included working closely with youth and the general public; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform above-described duties.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and schedule practice and games for participants.
• Secure practice areas to be safe and free of hazards and ensure only approved individuals are present.
• Report participant injuries at practice and competition to supervisor and provide first aid when needed.
• Carry emergency forms and parent/guardian information to all practices and competitions.
• Check locker rooms daily and ensure cleanliness.
• Supervise students leaving with a parent or guardian and verify sign-out.
• Attend coaches meetings and trainings as required.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
