Grace Wilday Jr High School in New Jersey is seeking an anticipated Spanish Teacher Leave Replacement for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves delivering standards-based Spanish instruction to secondary students and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Ideal candidates hold a NJ teaching certificate in Spanish or World Languages and a Bachelor's degree; a Master's is preferred. Experience with middle school students and SEL practices is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Spanish or World Languages.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience teaching middle school students (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of second language acquisition strategies.
• Ability to engage and motivate adolescent learners.
• Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based Spanish instruction for grades 9-12
• Develop engaging lessons that promote communication and language acquisition
• Integrate cultural components into daily instruction
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504 Plans
• Assess student progress and use data to inform instruction
• Maintain a positive classroom environment with effective management strategies
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and administration
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Participate in school-wide initiatives, including Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs
• Supervise students during assigned duties (e.g., lunch, recess, hallway transitions)
• Strong classroom management and consistency with setting rituals and routines.
