Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.
• RIDE Certification Requirements: KG-6 Elementary Education, 5-8 Middle Grades Social Studies, 6-12 Secondary Social Studies.
• ESL Certification preferred.
• Explicit requirement for Structured Literacy Awareness within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Instruct and monitor students using technology to support differentiated instruction.
• Establish clear objectives for learning activities and provide feedback.
• Manage classroom behavior with a warm, welcoming, culturally relevant environment.
• Use data to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
• Communicate regularly with students, families and colleagues.
• Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings and professional development.
• Assign and grade work according to state standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
