Applitrack is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher to educate students in grades 6-8 under the Thomaston Public Schools system. The role involves delivering district-approved curricula, assessing progress, and maintaining records with clear communication to families and administration.

The ideal candidate will hold Mississippi Middle School Teacher certification with endorsements, possess a valid license to drive, and have a bachelor’s in education with at least some teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Certification/License: Mississippi Certification as a Middle School Teacher with appropriate endorsement(s)
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
• Bachelor’s from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
• Masters Degree preferred
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school middle school curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Maintains a safe, conducive learning environment for individual and small group instruction.
• Teaches all required subjects for grades 6-8 as assigned.
• Assesses students regularly and adapts instruction to meet needs.
• Communicates with parents and administration about progress and expectations.
• Attends seminars/workshops to stay current in education.
• Keeps accurate records of grading and attendance as required by policy.
• Coordinates with staff on curriculum and assessments.
• Requisitions books and supplies and maintains inventory.
• Supervises students during school activities and transportation.
