Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers in Los Angeles is seeking an After-School Program Leader (Middle School) to supervise clubs of about 20 children and foster a fun, safe learning environment after school. The ideal candidate delivers engaging activities, monitors attendance, builds positive relationships with students and families, and collaborates with staff to meet program goals.

A High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate’s Degree in Child Development is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s Degree in Child Development or related field preferred.
• Experience in expanded learning programs, after-school programs, or youth recreation settings preferred.
• Must pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling skills.
• Availability Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM.
• Ability to work with K-12 students and communicate effectively with staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safe and supportive environment for students.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that support whole-child development.
• Monitor attendance and participation; maintain accurate records.
• Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with site coordinators to plan events and manage resources.
• Support safety procedures and trainings.
