Job summary

Raycap, Inc. in North Charleston, SC, seeks a Mechanical Engineer/Designer who blends hands-on product design with growth opportunities.

You’ll take ownership of components from concept through production, collaborating with senior engineers and designers. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in mechanical/structural design, an associate degree in engineering design (bachelor’s preferred), and proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Engineering Design or similar field of study.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or civil engineering (structural focus) preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in mechanical or structural design.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or comparable CAD software.
• Structural detailing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and regulatory guidelines.
• Strong organizational and communicative skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and model mechanical/structural parts and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
• Review architectural and structural plans for projects.
• Generate and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings to support development and production.
• Participate in sustaining engineering to improve or maintain products.
• Assist other designers and support layout development for new/existing designs.
• Research feasibility, functionality, and performance of components and systems.
• Collaborate across departments to meet deadlines.
