Job summary

Sheltering Arms is seeking a Lead Teacher to ensure the care and education of a group of children within a collaborative teaching team in Georgia. The role involves assisting with curriculum planning and implementing learning activities across developmental areas.

The Lead Teacher will maintain a safe, healthy classroom, support positive guidance and family communication, and align practices with GELDS and Georgia Pre-K requirements. A BA/BS in Early Childhood or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• BA or BS in Early Childhood or closely related field preferred.
• Knowledge of GELDS and Georgia Pre-K program requirements.
• Ability to lift and carry children and equipment as needed.
• Experience with maintaining safe and healthy classroom environments.
• Strong communication with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an orderly learning environment.
• Promote healthy eating by eating with children.
• Assist in planning and implementing curriculum.
• Monitor health and safety and perform daily health checks.
• Coordinate with Curriculum Specialist/Center Director on safety and program quality.
• Keep weekly lesson plans and assess developmental progress.
• Engage children with developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
• Greet parents and provide updates on child progress.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
