Job summary

The Gates Chili Central School District is seeking a Vocal/General Music teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This full-time, 10-month position includes a 7 hour 40 minute day with a duty-free lunch and a compensation range around $44,500 negotiable based on experience.

Required is NYS Certification in Music; Bachelor's degree in education or related field, with a Master's preferred. The role involves curriculum development, student assessments, and collaboration with administrators for district

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• NYS Certification in Music is required.
• Experience teaching music to K-12 students preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities in music integrated with history and culture.
• Identify and select instructional resources to meet students' varying needs.
• Encourages students to develop individual musical skills to the greatest extent.
• Utilizes repertoire of all types of music, including culturally diverse music.
• Observe and evaluate students' performance and development in music.
• Promotes collaboration with building administrator for school performances.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials according to NYS Standards.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and mastery of musical standards.
• Modifies instructional methods to fit individual student needs; conducts small group instruction.
