Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a dedicated Junior High 7th/8th Grade Science Teacher to deliver engaging instruction in 7th and 8th grade science, align coursework with standards, and support student growth.

Responsibilities include planning for two 7th-grade sections and four 8th-grade sections, assessing progress, communicating with parents, serving on committees, and maintaining classroom standards. A general science endorsement is required.

Qualifications

• Professional license with an endorsement in general science.
• Must have completed the mandated JH course to teach in self-contained content area.
• Experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare for 2 sections of 7th grade science and 4 sections of 8th grade science.
• Align coursework to the Common Core Standards.
• Instruct students to improve mastery in science content areas.
• Create a classroom environment that develops listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Evaluate progress and communicate this progress with parents.
• Administer and develop assessments to gauge competency levels.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
• Participate in faculty committees and sponsorship of student activities.
• Analyze data to determine curriculum decisions and path.
