Job summary

Independent School District 196 is seeking a licensed high school science teacher for Apple Valley High School. The 1.0 FTE position is an LTS assignment with anticipated start in late October 2026 and ending as defined by the master contract.

You will teach the standard science curriculum, maintain communication with staff and parents, and collaborate with school leadership to support student success. This role requires strong classroom management and commitment to equity in education.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach high school science.
• Strong general academic background.
• Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community.
• Experience working with a diverse school community is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum of District 196.
• Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
• Carry out responsibilities as defined by the principal.
• Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.
