Job summary

Defined Fitness Inc. is seeking a part-time Group X Instructor in Albuquerque, NM. You will lead group fitness classes, maintain safety and energy, and support members in achieving their goals with engaging instruction.

The role requires a group fitness certification and CPR/AED, with preferred national certifications. Responsibilities include subbing classes, updating routines, and ensuring a clean facility while adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one group fitness certification in various formats (LesMills, SilverSneakers, Zumba, Aqua, Cycling, Pilates, 200-hour yoga, etc.).
• Valid CPR/AED certification, infant and child, by first day of employment.
• Hold a nationally recognized certification such as ACE, AFAA, ASCM, AEA, NSCA, etc. preferred.
• Previous experience as a group exercise class instructor preferred.
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office and various other products such as ABC.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, energetic and appropriately structured class format and demonstrate warm-ups.
• Ensure classes start and end as scheduled while assisting members’ needs before/after class.
• Substitute classes as needed and secure substitutes.
• Regularly add variety to class by changing music, routine, exercises, etc.
• Offer modifications to meet different abilities.
• Attend mandatory meetings and trainings.
• Provide feedback on equipment condition and safety to management.
• Maintain a clean, safe facility in group exercise rooms.
• Read club communications and seek clarification if needed.
