Job summary

River Forest Community School Corporation seeks a dedicated EL teacher to join a team serving grades 6-12. You will work with identified EL students to improve English proficiency using push-in and pull-out strategies, and collaborate with general education teachers to adapt resources and provide accommodations.

You will implement ILPs, align with WIDA standards, and communicate progress with families while fostering an inclusive, language-rich learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in elementary education from an accredited program.
• Valid Indiana Teaching License or eligible to obtain licensure.
• English Learner endorsement or willingness to pursue giving endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Work with EL students in grades 6-12 to improve English proficiency through push-in and pull-out programming.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt instructional resources and implement accommodations.
• Participate in collaborative planning with general education teachers and contribute to WIDA planning where needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents and families about student progress and behaviour.
• Create and implement ILPs and language goals for EL students across the district.
