Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd, P.A. invites applications for an Associate Attorney in the Commercial Litigation practice group, based in South Carolina at Columbia, Greenville and/or Charleston.

The Associate handles complex business disputes, performing thorough research and writing, and participates in all phases of litigation, with opportunities to develop client relationships and advance in a professional, congenial environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in South Carolina (additional bar admissions a plus).
• 2–5 years of experience in commercial litigation.
• Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw, Lexis).
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trial.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs.
• Prepare witnesses and take depositions.
• Argue motions in court.
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials/arbitrations.
• Develop and maintain client relationships; communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.
• Manage multiple case files and deadlines simultaneously.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) when applicable
