Job summary

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Worcester invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track teaching faculty position in Chinese to begin in August 2027. The ideal candidate is a language educator who can work both collaboratively and independently and contribute to WPI’s Global Asia initiatives.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and professional-level proficiency in English.
• Minimum of 5 years of college-level Chinese teaching experience in the United States.
• Formal training in teaching Chinese as a foreign language or second language acquisition is required.

Responsibilities

• Teach 8 courses per academic year (two per 7-week term).
• Deliver engaging, inclusive Chinese language instruction to undergraduates.
