Job summary

Learn & Grow Child Development Center in New Haven, KY is seeking a dependable Floater/Support Staff member to join our team. This role covers multiple classrooms to support lead teachers and ensure every child receives attentive care.

You will assist with supervision, engage children in activities, maintain a clean, safe environment, and help with transitions, meals, and outdoor play while following licensing policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in childcare, early childhood education, or related field preferred.
• Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in multiple classrooms.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be reliable, flexible, and dependable.
• Ability to pass a background check as required by state licensing.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Float between classrooms to provide coverage and support to lead teachers as needed.
• Assist with supervision and engagement of children in daily activities and play.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
• Support staff during transitions, meals, nap time, and outdoor play.
• Follow all childcare policies, procedures, and licensing regulations.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
• Assist with classroom preparation and age-appropriate learning activities.
