The teacher will participate in the Diocese Catechist Certification program, monitor student progress, and maintain confidential records. A Florida teaching certificate or eligibility is required, with ongoing faith formation and professional development emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college recognized as acceptable for Florida certification.
• Must hold or obtain Professional Certificate in subject area within three years of hire.
• Documented progress towards certification must be made within the first year of hire; otherwise teaching contract cannot be renewed.
• Must hold or obtain Faith Fit Enrichment Certification in Levels 1–3 within three years of hire and continue ongoing enrichment.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement hands-on lesson plans for students.
• Diagnose and analyze for appropriate instruction.
• Use varied instructional techniques to meet individual needs.
• Assess student progress per Diocese procedures.
• Maintain accurate student records and attendance.
• Participate in Diocesan Catechist Certification Program and school PD.
• Cooperate with principal and staff in meetings and activities.
• Maintain professional relationships with parents and students.
