Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring a part-time Cashier in Houston, TX to provide friendly guest service, handle transactions, and support event operations. You will operate POS terminals, process payments, balance cash at shifts, and maintain accurate tills while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and processing payments accurately.
• Ability to operate POS systems and issue receipts.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Food Safety and TABC certification required.

Responsibilities

• Process cash, credit card, mobile, and other payment transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Operate POS systems, issue receipts, process refunds, and follow company cash-handling procedures.
• Balance cash drawers, reconcile sales, and maintain the security and accuracy of all transactions.
• Greet guests professionally, answer basic product and menu questions, and provide a positive checkout experience.
• Resolve guest concerns or elevate issues to management when necessary.
• Verify pricing, monitor for transaction discrepancies, and report system or pricing issues.
• Verify IDs and follow responsible alcohol service laws and company policies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked cashier station.
• Ensure menus, signage, and promotional materials are properly displayed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and operational teams to support efficient event execution.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, safety, and company policies while assisting with event operations as needed.
