Job summary

The YMCA of Honolulu is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor to conduct cardio and strength classes at our Kalihi location. You will represent the YMCA by delivering high-quality workouts and guiding members, under supervision of the Group Exercise Coordinator or Healthy Lifestyles Director.

Responsibilities include teaching classes on schedule, maintaining safety standards, building member relationships, and coordinating substitutions or special events while upholding YMCA values.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of designing, conducting, and implementing safe group exercise classes.
• Knowledge of general health and wellness.
• Experience in health/fitness field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned class(es) or ensure coverage in line with schedule.
• Lead safe, effective, enjoyable workouts following guidelines.
• Engage with members and promote Group Exercise programs.
• Develop relationships with members and communicate schedule changes.
• Provide class substitutions, new class announcements, and events.
• Encourage participants and offer modifications for all levels.
