Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
• Teaching Certificate and State certification including endorsements for a specific subject
• Relevant teaching experience in a classroom setting
• Commitment to equitable instruction and collaboration with school community

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning
• Develop schemes of work and lesson plans
• Establish clear objectives for all learning activities
• Prepare classroom for class activities
• Provide learning materials and resources for educational activities
• Identify and meet students' varying needs with instructional resources and methods
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Use relevant technology to support instruction
• Observe and evaluate students' performance and development
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments
• Provide feedback on work and monitor progress
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress
• Communicate progress to students, colleagues and parents
• Maintain discipline and implement classroom management
• Participate in department and school meetings and parent meetings
• Keep up to date with developments in subject area and adjust plans accordingly
