Job summary

Cole Academy in East Lansing, MI is seeking a Full Time 1st Grade Teacher who is licensed to teach in Michigan and endorsed for the grade level. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing, student-centered classroom with a focus on literacy, math mastery, and MTSS supports.

Responsibilities include delivering engaging, standards-aligned lessons, assessing student progress, collaborating with staff, and communicating with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education; master's preferred.
• Valid Michigan teaching certification and grade-level endorsement.
• Strong understanding of child development and teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with families and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons aligned to standards.
• Create assessments and monitor student progress using varied methods.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in PD.
• Engage in school activities, meetings, and events to support the mission.
• Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff; ensure regular attendance.
