Job summary

Ayers Animal Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia seeks DVM students for a paid externship experience. This internship offers 1st through 4th year veterinary students a hands-on mentored environment under licensed veterinarians to observe and assist in small animal care.

Flex scheduling, 1:1 mentorship, and potential future employment opportunities are provided; active AVMA-accredited student status required. This externship is drug-free, smoke-free, and an equal opportunity program.

Ayers Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital, and we are equipped to handle emergency cases as well as non-emergency medical, surgical, preventive health and dental cases. Dr. Mark Ayers, Dr. Candie Baker, Dr. Amber Lilly, Dr. Rebecca Metz and Dr. Julie Tackett are experienced in all types of medical, surgical, and preventive health conditions. Beyond first rate pet care, we make our hospital comfortable, kid-friendly and provide a very calm environment so pets can relax in our space. We are passionate about mentorship and looking for the next generation of students to teach!
