Job summary

Animal Hospital of Avon is seeking veterinary students for a paid externship. Join a supportive team with mentorship, flexible scheduling, and hands-on learning in a modern facility. Externs will observe and assist under supervision, with experiences aligned to AVMA guidelines.

Eligibility includes 3rd or 4th year students from AVMA-accredited programs. Compensation is $15 per hour. This externship offers 1:1 mentorship, future opportunities through our partner track, and a path toward

Our skilled team is made up of five Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) with over 45 years of combined experience, along with four veterinary assistants who have recently completed or are currently enrolled in a veterinary technology program. We are committed to giving back and supporting the development of future veterinary professionals by offering externships and mentorship opportunities for students.

Our team practices the highest level of medicine by creating individualized treatment plans that use multi-modal anesthesia and analgesia, along with tailored patient monitoring and nursing care. We integrate Fear Free strategies and follow AAHA, AAFP, and AVMA guidelines.
