Job summary

Alliance Animal Health in Port Richey, FL is offering a veterinary student externship for 1st through 4th year DVM students. The program provides flexible scheduling, paid externship hours, and opportunities for future employment within the practice.

Externs will receive 1:1 mentorship and guidance while gaining exposure to after-hours, weekend, and holiday care in a small animal emergency setting. This is an ideal chance to enhance education through hands-on experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be a DVM Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.
• 1st through 4th Year Veterinary Students are eligible.
• Compassionate, Team Player and Strong Communicator are desired qualities.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinary staff with client communication and patient care.
• Assist in real-world clinical experiences under supervision.
• Participate in mentorship and guidance sessions during the externship.

Our small animal emergency hospital is conveniently located on U.S. Highway 19 in Port Richey. We serve your pet with any urgent and critical care needs after hours, weekends, and holidays. Founded in 1990 by a local veterinarian, our facility is an overnight clinic available for your pets continued care and emergencies. We understand it is stressful not being able to see your regular vet when your pet is not well, but you can rest easy knowing your pet is in good hands with our attentive staff. Our mission is to provide comprehensive, high quality medical and surgical care. We offer an extensive range of service all located within the premises. We equip a well-stocked pharmacy, surgery suite, digital x-ray, isolation units, intensive care units, oxygen support, diagnostic lab, ultrasonography, and a canine and feline blood bank.
