Job summary

Alliance Animal Health in Clayton, NC seeks veterinary student externs to gain hands-on experience in a busy small-animal practice. You will work 30 minute appointments, observe and assist under DVM mentors, with flexible scheduling and paid externship hours.

Applicants must be an AVMA-accredited veterinary student and in good standing, with opportunities for future employment preferences and a supportive mentor network to guide your education.

Qualifications

• Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.
• Available for externship during DVM studies.
• Strong communication and teamwork required.

Responsibilities

• Gain real-world clinical experience through externship.
• Work with a busy small animal team in Clayton, NC.
• Participate in mentoring and DVM guidance sessions.

Job description

We are a very busy, small animal practice. Our core values are "GRIT" Grace, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. We have a great team fostering an excellent work environment.

We are located in Clayton, NC, about 20 minutes east of Raleigh. We are a full service hospital with innovative and progressive treatment options, including digital X-ray, low level therapy laser, full in-house CBC, and chemistry, chemotherapy, chiropractic, surgical suite and specialize in canine reproduction. We are open M-F, 8a-6p, with 2 late nights a week (Monday and Thursday until 8pm, to help our clients with after work urgent vet appointments).

We encourage a great balance of work and family by not being open on the weekends. We have great support staff (RVT's), 30 minute appointments, dedicated lunches, and minimal drama.
