Bright Cross Animal Clinic in Venice, FL invites DVM students (Class of 2027) to join an externship track with a focused path toward a future full-time role. Participants receive a $1,000 per week stipend and hands-on exposure in a busy small-animal practice.

You'll gain broad clinical experience under mentorship, observe and participate in medical and surgical cases, and develop diagnostic and client-communication skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program at an accredited university, graduating in 2027.
• Professional comportment and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
• Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
• A compassionate, team-player attitude and a respect for clients and their pets.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Receive mentorship and supervision from experienced veterinarians.
• Observe and participate in medical and surgical procedures, diagnostic processes, and client communication when possible.
• Develop diagnostic and hands-on skills in a supportive environment.
• Assist in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to small animals.
