Job summary

Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City is seeking an Adjunct Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Instructor to provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in an AVMA-CVTEA accredited Veterinary Technology program.

The role mentors students, supports clinical competence and professional skills, and ensures instruction aligns with accreditation standards and current veterinary practices. Courses run M–Th 9a–4p with possible evenings and weekends for content development.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with primary duties providing services in a clinical (public or private) setting.
• Must have educational qualifications to teach in subject area or have documented specialty education/experience to meet tested experience requirements, as per the Higher Learning commission’s publication on Determining Qualified Faculty and provide leadership in academic discipline and/or degree program.
• Programs with discipline-specific external accreditation may have more stringent training and experience requirements.
• Registered DVM in Oklahoma

Responsibilities

• Maintain syllabus, assignments, and exams as necessary (in Canvas and paper documents).
• Communicate progress in the course to students in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance and progress and provide them to administration in accordance with established institutional policies and procedures.
• Participate in student retention and persistence efforts.
• Support the mission of the program, division, and college.
• Foster a safe and effective teaching and learning environment.
• Exhibit innovative and adaptive instructional methods.
• Maintain a presence in the online classroom (virtual or hybrid courses).
• Completes all mandatory University training.
• Fulfill all requirements as noted in the Adjunct Handbook.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
