Job summary

AACI in San Jose seeks a Client Advocacy Manager to lead the San Jose Family Justice Center (FJC) and the anti-human trafficking program. You will supervise Legal Advocates, coordinate with internal departments and external partners, and ensure integrated service delivery across teams.

The role requires crisis intervention, policy development, community engagement, and strong supervision experience. A California driver license is preferred for duties that involve on-site and field work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor level degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Four years or more experience in gender-based/intimate partner violence or human trafficking.
  • Two years or more of supervisory experience.
  • Completed state mandated 80-hour Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management for Legal Advocates and program staff.
  • Oversee weekly coordination of the San Jose Family Justice Center (FJC).
  • Manage and maintain program records and budgets; monitor contracts and grants.
  • Engage with internal and external partners to improve service integration and outcomes.
  • Provide crisis counseling, safety planning, referrals, advocacy, and intakes including 24-hour crisis hotline.

This position is responsible for management and oversight of the San Jose Family Justice Center (FJC), the anti human trafficking program, and integration with the AACI Health Center (HC). The Client Advocacy Manager collaborates with the relative teams to ensure an integrated program delivery approach.The Client Advocacy Manager is responsible for management and oversight of the San Jose Family Justice Center (FJC) and the anti-human trafficking program. The position collaborates with internal departments and external partners to ensure an integrated program delivery approach.This position provides crisis intervention and operational support.Why join AACI?Hybrid Remote Model with a company laptop.Paid Holidays, Vacation, and Sick time.Comprehensive benefits, including Health Plan Options (95% premium coverage).403(b) Retirement Plan with match.Free Headspace mindfulness app access.Eligibility for State Loan Forgiveness Program.Duties and responsibilities:Provide leadership, supervision, and performance management for Legal Advocates and assigned program staff.Oversees the weekly coordination of the San Jose Family Justice Center (FJC).Manages and maintains program records.Engages with internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance program operations, improve service integration, identify emerging trends.Oversee contract fulfillment, monitor progress on contract deliverables, and compile monthly program reports.Documents and maintains client records per appropriate standards and regulations.Provides crisis counseling, safety planning, information, referrals, advocacy, mediation, and intakes both in person and via the 24-hour crisis hotline.Represents the agency at community meetings and develops partnerships with community stakeholders.Monitors program budgets and maintains compliance with contracts and grants.Coordinates financial assistance for clients to purchase basic necessities and support client transition to a safe environment.Monitors and evaluates outcomes data, identifying strengths and addressing areas of improvement.Facilitates referral linkages to community resources and performs case management services as needed.Provides on-call emergency support.Provides community education and training on domestic violence and human trafficking issues as needed.Develops and updates FJC, anti-human trafficking, and internal referral policies and procedures as needed.Engages in ongoing learning and development to remain current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.Completes other duties and related projects as assigned.Education & Experience:Bachelor Level Degree in a related field such as public health, social work, or social justice, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.Four years or more experience working in gender based/intimate partner violence, or human trafficking.Two years or more of supervisory experience.Completed state mandated 80-hour Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking training and has both Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Advocate privilege.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Demonstrated ability to effectively perform the responsibilities outlined above.Ability to select and hire staff, supervise subordinate managers (and other staff) and ensure appropriate orientation, training and development of program personnel.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PP, Outlook) and Teams,Experience using and hosting Zoom.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Experience working with grants and contract deliverables, including inputting, collecting, and reporting on confidential client data.Knowledge of laws and ethical standards pertaining to gender-based violence and human trafficking.Experience with project management methodologies preferred.Experience with EmpowerDB or another confidential online database preferred.This position may require driving. A valid California driver license, current personal auto insurance, and an MVR sufficient to maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies.Verbal and written fluency in English required; Bilingual skills in a second language (particularly Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese) desired but not required.Competencies:Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and switch focus from one task to another swiftly and efficiently.Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural, professional, and experiential backgrounds.Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Working conditions:The job is performed in an interior office setting with no adverse environmental conditions expected. Basic safety precautions and use of protective clothing or gear may be required. Driving is essential to the function of this job. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
