Job summary

Palace Entertainment is seeking a Lodging Maintenance Manager for Dutch Wonderland Inn in Lancaster, PA. You will supervise the maintenance team, manage budgets, and ensure safe operation of facilities, grounds and equipment.

Strong mechanical/electrical know‑how and supervisory experience are essential for this role. Responsibilities include planning preventive maintenance, coordinating projects, inspection of facilities, and supporting park leadership.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in hotel or hospitality industries.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience; capable of leading a team.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge; read blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance team and assign tasks; mentor staff.
  • Plan, manage, and control departmental budgets, labor, and materials.
  • Oversee safety compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
  • Coordinate new construction projects and preventive maintenance.
  • Inspect facilities daily; ensure safe, clean, and functional operations.
  • Act as project manager on maintenance initiatives and capital projects.
  • Participate in Park Duty Manager rotation during season.

Maintenance Manager**Roles & Responsibilities:**Supervisory Duties:· Manage all aspects of the Maintenance team and any other assigned departments· Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned team members· Manage and control all financial aspects of assigned departments while maximizing revenue and cost savings opportunities maintain constant vigilance over departmental spending and budgets· Act as a strategic visionary to implement measures that will favorably impact process, people, and/or profit· Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests.· Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all maintenance positions and backfill these positions when needed· Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.· Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with PA law· Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activitiesDepartmental Duties:· Acts as trusted business partner and maintenance expert for park leadership, making improvement recommendations and highlighting concerns, as needed· Maintain facility in compliance with OSHA, state regulatory agencies, and all other pertinent and applicable regulatory guidelines· Oversee all major new construction projects using working knowledge of state and local guidelines/restrictions· Directs and coordinates activities of maintenance team members engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, and equipment of building, and grounds.· Reviews job ordered to determine work priorities.· Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.· Coordinate vendor contacts, solicit bids, and order maintenance-related goods and supplies.· Conduct daily and frequent site inspections to ensure that the maintenance department meets the highest possible standards of safety, courtesy, cleanliness, and efficiency.· Oversee the maintenance of the physical property to ensure safe operations and minimal downtime and good appearance at the lowest possible cost.· Coordinate new projects and acts as project manager, when needed.· Participate in the Maintenance and Park Duty Manager rotation for the park during the operating season, if needed· All other duties as assigned by leadershipEducation and Experience:· High School diploma, GED, or equivalent· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline preferred Equivalent work experience will also be considered· 3–5 years of previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment, managing building maintenance, guest facilities, and capital improvement projects. · 2+ year of previous supervisory experience, preferably in a maintenance capacity· Previous project management experience preferredLanguage: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements:· Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with PA Child Labor Laws· Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close· Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record· Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner, including landscaping equipment· Strong background in mechanical, electrical, pumps, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and carpentry highly desired.· Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsPhysical Requirements:· Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, climb, or squat for long periods of time· Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer· Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday· Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 75 pounds or more· Ability to work in all non-conventional areas of the property, including in confined spaces or above ground-level, on scaffolds, ladders, and manlifts· Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools· Ability to see differences between colors and brightness· Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayWorking Conditions:· This role will be based in both an office setting as well as outdoor Park environment· Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities· Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions· Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals
