Durable Medical Equipment Repair Specialist

Resilient Solutions Plus, LLC is currently seeking a full time DME Repair Specialist to support a Veterans Administration contract. We will be supporting beneficiaries and their families in Baltimore and surrounding areas.

Job Summary: Responsible for the installation, calibration, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of progressively complex medical equipment throughout Baltimore city and surrounding areas. Reviews device specific repair history for identification of potentially unresolved equipment problems. Answers questions regarding medical equipment and its usage and documents activities. The technician will work closely with healthcare professionals and customers to ensure that medical equipment is functioning properly and meets regulatory requirements.

Primary Duties:

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, electrical safety, performance testing and calibrations on medical equipment. Documents activities providing a history for the piece of equipment.
• Performs routine to moderately complex repairs on clinical/medical equipment. Research necessary parts (electrical/mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and manuals, etc.). Documents activities to ensure completeness and accuracy of the equipment's history.
• Provide technical support and training to healthcare professionals
• Verifies accuracy of inventory listing and availability of necessary parts/test equipment.
• Reviews device specific repair history for identification of potentially unresolved equipment problems.
• Order and install replacement parts as needed
• Maintains technical expertise on designated technology. Develops technical expertise in new areas of exposure as assigned.
• May mix, test, and/or provide chemicals, lubricants, and supplies that are required for the proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Provides “on-call” technical assistance in order to verify equipment malfunctions and to provide off-hours emergency service

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent training, such as in biomedical equipment technology or electrical/electronic engineering or military electronics, is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and mechanical repair
• Knowledge of medical equipment and regulatory requirements
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass background and drug screen.
• Must have valid driver's license.
