Job summary

Stellantis NV is seeking an experienced Vehicle Durability CAE Engineer to design, simulate, and validate vehicle components to meet durability targets. You will leverage FEA and MBD tools to predict issues across full vehicle platforms.

Responsibilities include running CAE simulations with ANSA, Abaqus, Nastran and Metapost, collaborating with design teams, and presenting results to leadership. Master’s degree is a plus and 8+ years in CAE durability analysis are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 8+ years of experience in CAE durability analysis.
• Proficient with ANSA, Abaqus, Nastran and Metapost.
• Strong understanding of suspension, structural mechanics and fatigue theory.
• Experience with nCode or DesignLife for fatigue analysis.

• Coordinate with test engineers to correlate simulations with tests.

Job description

The Vehicle Durability CAE Engineeris responsible forthe design, simulation, and validation of vehicle components and systems to meet durability and structural performance targets. This roleleveragesfinite element analysis (FEA) and multi-body dynamics (MBD) tools to predict and resolve durability issues across full vehicle platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute CAE simulations to assess durability performance of vehicle structures and components.
• Use tools such asANSA,Abaqus,NastranandnCODEto model and analyze full vehicle systems.
• Collaborate with design engineering to ensure feasibility of proposed solutions and alignment with DSM (Durability Strength & Misuse) requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis of failuresobservedduring physical validation testing and propose corrective actions.
• Conduct post-processing of simulation data including damage calculations, load histograms, and comparative assessments.
• Document and present findings to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Maintain and update simulation models based on latest design iterations and test feedback.
• Coordinate with test engineers to correlate simulation results with physical test data.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical,Structural, Civil, Automotive Engineering or related field.
• Minimum8yearsof experience in CAE durability analysis.
• ProficiencyinANSA,Abaqus,NastranandMetapost.
• Strong understanding of vehicle suspension systems, structural mechanics and fatigue theory.
• Familiarity withnCodeorDesignLifefor fatigue analysis.
• Ability to interpret real-world and simulation data to ensure model fidelity.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience withADAMSfor multi-body dynamics modeling is a plus.
