Job summary

Croell, Inc. in Greene, IA is seeking a Dump Truck Driver to deliver concrete and maintain equipment. This full-time, seasonal role requires overtime during peak season and travel to sites as directed by the dispatcher. Pay ranges from $24 to $27 per hour and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen and MVP (Motor Vehicle Record) check required.
• Class B CDL and current Medical DOT card required.
• Mechanical background and practical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Dependability and punctuality are essential.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate dump trucks and related concrete equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on assigned trucks.
• Complete time reporting, truck and scale tickets, and related paperwork.
• Load accuracy: verify load size, slump, and ticket compliance.
• Deliver concrete via efficient routes as directed by dispatcher/Plant Manager.
• Wash out equipment and conduct end-of-day inspections.
• Occasional duties beyond normal scope and outside standard hours.

Overview

The Dump Truck Driver will be responsible for delivering concrete and maintaining equipment. The Dump Truck Driver is a full-time, seasonal position that requires overtime through peak season, reports to the Regional Manager, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
• Perform maintenance on assigned trucks and other equipment as required.
• Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and assist with maintenance or repair of equipment as needed.
• Process required paperwork throughout the day (time reporting, truck reports, scale tickets).
• Record any maintenance issues in the truck logbook and ensure the supervisor is aware of any maintenance issues that would inhibit work production or create safety concerns.
• Visually inspect mix for proper materials, verify load size to the ticket, check for the proper slump, and adjust accordingly.
• Deliver concrete using the most efficient route as directed by the dispatcher or Plant Manager.
• Must wash out the box, fuel truck, clean truck, and complete end-of-day truck inspection.
• Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e., work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours).

Requirements

• Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
• Class B CDL and current Medical DOT card.
• Mechanical background and skills.
• Possess excellent communication skills and understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.
• Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
• A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
• Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
• Overnight travel is not standard but may be required.
