Job summary

Sun Street Centers in Monterey County seeks a Registered or Certified DUI Instructor to join the Behavioral Health Services team. You will lead DUI education classes, conduct group counseling, and support participant progress with a client-centered approach.

The role requires knowledge of state DUI programs, confidentiality, and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Travel between Sun Street Centers locations and background screenings are required.

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating substance use disorder education, counseling, or behavioral health services.
• Experience working with justice-involved individuals.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• If in recovery, a minimum of two years sobriety.
• Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel between Sun Street Centers locations.
• Ability to complete required background screenings.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate DUI education classes utilizing approved curriculum and instructional materials.
• Conduct group counseling sessions for all DUI program levels.
• Educate participants regarding alcohol and drug use, relapse prevention, accountability, and behavior change.
• Incorporate current alcohol and drug research and DUI-related information into educational programming.
• Record attendance and participant activity in compliance with state regulations.
• Complete progress notes, interview summaries, assessments, and required documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain participant confidentiality and adhere to all privacy requirements.
• Utilize EHR and virtual service platforms as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
