Job summary

MassMutual in Boston seeks a Due Diligence Analyst to conduct initial and ongoing evaluation of investment offerings and oversee manager due diligence, helping shape the firm's due diligence framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 3+ years of experience evaluating investment products and asset classes.
• 2+ years of experience presenting investment analyses to senior leadership, committees, or key stakeholders.
• 2+ years of experience leading or supporting process improvement, business transformation or operational change.
• 2+ years of experience using investment research tools and databases (e.g., Morningstar, Bloomberg).
• 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

The Due Diligence Analyst will conduct initial and ongoing due diligence analysis of investment offerings and contribute to the continued evolution of the firm’s due diligence framework. In addition to investment research and manager oversight, this individual will help identify and implement opportunities to enhance processes, reporting, technology utilization, and operational efficiency across the due diligence function. This role is well suited for an intellectually curious professional who enjoys solving complex problems, challenging existing approaches, and building scalable oversight capabilities. The position offers meaningful exposure to investment leadership, cross-functional partners, and strategic initiatives that help shape the future of the due diligence program.

The Impact

As a Due Diligence Analyst, you will evaluate investment managers' operational infrastructure, governance, philosophy, processes, resources, and performance to support informed investment decisions and effective risk management. You will monitor and oversee investment managers and external service providers, helping ensure ongoing alignment with business objectives and oversight standards.

You will communicate due diligence findings and recommendations to senior leadership through written analyses and committee presentations, enabling sound decision-making across the organization. In partnership with stakeholders across Investments, Product, Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Risk Management, you will provide subject matter expertise on investment-related matters and help translate due diligence insights into actionable business outcomes.

You will identify opportunities to enhance due diligence processes, reporting, controls, and technology solutions, leading or supporting initiatives that improve scalability, operational effectiveness, and oversight capabilities. As a change agent, you will constructively challenge existing practices, champion innovative approaches, and help establish best practices across the Investment Oversight function, driving continuous improvement and supporting the organization’s evolving needs.

The Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years of experience evaluating investment products and asset classes, including mutual funds, SMAs, strategist portfolios, alternatives, variable annuities, or similar investment vehicles.
• 2+ years of experience presenting investment analyses, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership, committees, or other key stakeholders.
• 2+ years of experience leading or supporting process improvement, business transformation or operational change.
• 2+ years of experience using investment research tools and databases, such as Morningstar, Bloomberg, or similar platforms.
• 2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Due to the nature of this position, as a part of our background check process, candidates must be able to pass a non-registered fingerprint background check to qualify as a fingerprinted person under FINRA

The Ideal Qualifications

• CFA or currently pursuing
• Experience designing, documenting, implementing, or enhancing business processes, workflows, controls, or technology enabled solutions.
• Familiarity with data visualization, reporting automation, analytics, or other tools that improve operational effectiveness and decision making.
• Demonstrated ability to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process, reporting, or technology enhancements.
• Experience serving as a change agent by leading through ambiguity and driving continuous improvement in a growing or evolving organization.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes across teams without direct authority.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, process-driven, or growth-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to a variety of audiences.
• Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to expand knowledge beyond established areas of expertise
