Job summary

CT Mechanical is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to assemble and install sheet metal products and duct systems. Candidates should have a strong technical background, read blueprints, and commit to safety standards while working independently or in a team.

The role requires physical fitness, 3+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to operate metalworking tools on commercial/industrial sites. Applicants must be able to lift 50+ pounds and travel to multiple job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors for 8 hours.
• Valid driver's license to commute to sites.
• Minimum 3 years of sheet metal/duct work on commercial or industrial sites.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Determine layout of systems and read blueprints to plan installations.
• Run square and spiral duct from layouts with precise alignment.
• Set hangers, straps, and curbs per specs.
• Install VAV boxes and perform light fabrication.
• Measure and mark sheet metal for cutting and fitting.
• Operate machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten metal.
• Finish welds/seams; ensure smooth surfaces and quality.
