The role involves fabricating and installing sheet metal ductwork, VAV boxes, and exhaust systems while coordinating with project managers and trades to meet project specs and codes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial HVAC duct installation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Experience installing sheet metal ductwork and HVAC accessories.
• Familiarity with SMACNA standards is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate power tools, lifts, and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Install rectangular, spiral, round, and oval duct systems per drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, HVAC plans, and shop drawings.
• Measure, fabricate, and install ductwork to project specs.
• Install VAV boxes, dampers, diffusers, grilles, and exhaust systems.
• Hang and support ductwork with proper hardware.
• Seal duct joints and insulate as required.
• Coordinate work with project managers, foremen, and other trades.
• Ensure installations meet codes and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized job site.
• Complete projects efficiently while upholding quality workmanship.

About the Position

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Commercial HVAC Duct Mechanic to join our growing team in the Jacksonville area. The ideal candidate has experience installing commercial HVAC duct systems, can read blueprints, and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining a safe and productive job site.

Responsibilities

• Install rectangular, spiral, round, and oval sheet metal duct systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, HVAC plans, and shop drawings.
• Measure, fabricate, and install ductwork according to project specifications.
• Install VAV boxes, dampers, diffusers, grilles, registers, and exhaust systems.
• Hang and support ductwork using proper methods and hardware.
• Seal duct joints and install insulation as required.
• Coordinate work with project managers, foremen, and other trades.
• Ensure installations meet project specifications, mechanical codes, and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship.
