Job summary

Shepeard Community Blood Center in Dublin, GA is seeking a dedicated CDL Mobile Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for the efficient and safe collection of blood from volunteer donors, managing equipment and supplies, and preparing units for transportation.

Under the supervision of the Director of Donor Services, you will ensure a pleasant, reassuring donor experience while maintaining accurate records and vehicle readiness.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved phlebotomy course.
• Experience: 3-6 months driving vehicles over 26,001 pounds.
• Skills: Basic mechanical and clerical skills; ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift at least 50 pounds.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Load, transport, set up, and dismantle equipment and supplies for blood collection.
• Maintain the bloodmobile and truck in good working condition.
• Complete necessary logs and reports including VIR and DDL.
• Maintain accurate manual and computer files on quality control and blood collections.
• Promote positive relations with donors, sponsors, and the community.

This role involves managing equipment and supplies, preparing blood units for transportation, and ensuring a pleasant and reassuring experience for all donors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Management: Load, transport, set up, and dismantle equipment and supplies for blood collection.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the bloodmobile and truck, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Documentation: Complete necessary logs and reports, including the Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) and Driver’s Daily Log (DDL).
• Quality Control: Maintain accurate manual and computer files on quality control and blood collections.
• Public Relations: Promote positive relations with donors, sponsors, and the community.
