Chatham County Schools is hiring for a Dual Role School Nutrition Assistant/Bus Driver to support the traditional school year with a 30-hour, 10-month schedule. This role combines food service duties with bus-transport responsibilities, placing emphasis on accuracy, safety, and customer service in a school cafeteria setting.

The position involves food preparation, cash handling, POS transactions, and maintaining sanitation standards, with priority on teamwork, reliability, and flexible,

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and work efficiently.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Standing and walking most of the day.
• Food service and money handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation including entrees, vegetables, salads, side dishes, and items sold a la carte.
• Accurate documentation of food counts and cash payments.
• Cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and cafeteria.
• Assist with deliveries and lifting/moving objects up to 50 lbs.
• Conduct POS transactions and handle money accurately.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and coworkers.
• Participate in regular job training.
• Follow COVID policies and procedures at all times.
