Job summary

Residence Inn/Fairfield Inn is seeking an Engineering Manager to oversee all maintenance operations and a team of maintenance staff. You will ensure the hotel remains in top physical condition and uphold labor and quality standards while delivering guest service excellence.

You will lead preventative maintenance, coordinate projects with contractors, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversees maintenance team members (minimum two full-time) with interview, selection, pay, discipline, and termination recommendations.
• Performs and schedules preventative maintenance for equipment, guestrooms, and hotel areas.
• Repairs mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building components.
• Coordinates with property leadership and communicates facility updates.
• Manages training, scheduling, and counseling within the maintenance department.
• Gathers proposals, creates timelines, and coordinates with outside contractors on projects.

Job Summary

The Engineering Manager oversees all maintenance operations and team members. The Engineering Manager is responsible for maintaining the overall physical condition of the hotel and requires a high level of specialized expertise in all areas of responsibility. The Engineering Manager ensures labor and quality standards are upheld and assists with establishing a positive work environment, delivering exceptional guest service and administering policies and procedures established by the company and the hotel brand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversees all maintenance team members (minimum of two full-time FTE) with the authority to interview, select and set the pay of team members; discipline team members; make formal termination recommendations; and investigate and adjudicate complaints.
• Performs and assigns established preventative maintenance programs for equipment, guestrooms, and all other areas of the hotel.
• Performs repairs of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and building-related components.
• Collaborates with property leadership team and regularly communicates pertinent information related to the facility and maintenance department.
• Oversees maintenance department with efforts relating to training, scheduling, and counseling.
• Coordinates and manages all maintenance projects and outside contractors including gathering proposals, making recommendations, creating timelines, and resolving issues.
• Maintains extensive knowledge of fire safety equipment, refrigeration, pool and elevator operation.
• Maintains pool areas according to company and brand standards in addition to applicable state and local codes.
• Maintains external property appearance including lawn, landscaping and parking lot.
• Monitors and oversees department budget, equipment, tools and supply inventories.
• Ensures compliance with all required health, safety and security standards and procedures.
• Maintains extensive knowledge of door locks systems including performing repairs, replacement and preventative maintenance.
• Operates common power and hand tools safely.

• Assists team members and other departments as needed to contribute to operational efficiency.
