Job summary

Cumberland County Guidance Center in Bridgeton, NJ is seeking a Full-Time Dual Diagnosis Disorder Specialist to join our onsite team. You will work with the Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) to help clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, delivering comprehensive assessments, crisis intervention, and recovery-oriented services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited institution.
  • LCADC or CADC credentials.
  • Two years of post-certification experience with chronically mentally ill or MICA populations.
  • Flexible 40-hour schedule, including some weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean five-year driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments, education, and counseling.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and symptom evaluation.
  • Support clients in developing recovery skills and working toward a substance-free lifestyle.
  • Participating in assertive community outreach to engage individuals in need.
  • Assisting with referrals to rehabilitation and treatment programs.
  • Collaborating with the team during treatment planning and case reviews.
  • Sharing responsibility for caseload management.
  • Using Motivational Interviewing (MI) to effectively engage and support clients.

What You'll Do as a Dual Diagnosis Disorder Specialist

  • Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean five‑year driving record meeting agency and insurance standards
  • Spanish‑speaking ability preferred
