Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary resource for partner high school faculty with dual credit programs and MFQ requirements.
• Travel district-wide to meet with high school faculty, administrators, and stakeholders.
• Promote professional development opportunities through the Teaching and Learning Excellence (TLE) division and the Academic Support Center (ASC).
• Document and maintain college processes for dual credit faculty credentialing and support.
• Assist in planning, coordination, and promotion of faculty development events and programs during the grant period.
• Support expansion of credentialed dual credit instructors and programs using grant resources.
• Support the Access and Equity in Dual Credit Project Grant to increase access for historically underserved students.
• Prioritize outreach to rural, low-income, first‑generation, and disabled students with limited access to dual credit.
• Support expansion of Type A Dual Credit courses at high school locations by qualified instructors.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase access to IAI GECC transfer courses and CTE pathways aligned with ICC programs.
• Collaborate with various departments and school districts to strengthen pathways from dual credit to ICC enrollment, credential completion, and transfer.
• Maintain records to monitor grant activities, KPIs, and credential progress.
• Monitor progress toward grant objectives and contribute to continuous improvement.

Job Description

Summary

The Dual Credit Liaison (DCL) collaborates with Early College, Academic Affairs, and partner high schools to expand and strengthen dual credit opportunities throughout the Illinois Central College district. This position works to increase equitable access to dual credit coursework by supporting the development, implementation, and growth of dual credit offerings for qualified students.

The DCL serves as a primary resource for partner high school faculty, providing guidance on Illinois Central College’s Minimum Faculty Qualifications (MFQ), credentialing requirements, and approval processes. The position helps faculty navigate qualification pathways, identify solutions to credentialing barriers, and maintain compliance with the Illinois Dual Credit Quality Act (DCQA). Through relationship building, technical assistance, and cross-functional collaboration, the DCL supports the expansion of credentialed dual credit instructors and sustainable dual credit programming that increases student access to college-level coursework.

This is a grant funded position through the Illinois Community College Board Access and Equity grant with an expected end date of 6/30/2027 with a possibility of the funding being extended.

Compensation for the Dual Credit Liaison is $40,000.00 annually.

Essential Functions

• Serve as a primary resource for partner high school faculty by providing support for dual credit programs, course offerings, instructional requirements, ICC’s Minimum Faculty Qualifications (MFQ), credentialing pathways, teaching expectations, and effective pedagogical practices.
• Travel throughout the district to meet with high school faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders to support dual credit initiatives and strengthen partnerships.
• Promote and communicate professional development opportunities available to dual credit instructors through the Teaching and Learning Excellence (TLE) division and the Academic Support Center (ASC).
• Document and maintain current college processes, procedures, and resources related to dual credit faculty credentialing and support.
• Assist in the planning, coordination, promotion, and facilitation of faculty development events and training opportunities throughout the grant period.
• Leverage grant‑funded resources to support high school and college faculty seeking to obtain qualifications to teach dual credit courses.
• Support the implementation of the Access and Equity in Dual Credit Project Grant, with a focus on increasing equitable access to dual credit opportunities for historically underserved student populations.
• Prioritize outreach, relationship‑building, and support for high schools serving rural communities, low‑income students, first‑generation students, students with disabilities, and other underserved populations with limited access to dual credit programming.
• Support the expansion of Type A Dual Credit courses taught at high school locations by qualified high school instructors.
• Assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase student access to Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) transfer courses and Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway courses aligned with ICC academic programs.
• Collaborate with Early College, Academic Affairs, Enrollment Services, and partner school districts to strengthen pathways from dual credit participation to ICC enrollment, credential completion, university transfer, and career attainment.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to monitor grant activities, key performance indicators, faculty qualification progress, professional development participation, and quarterly reporting requirements.
• Monitor progress toward grant objectives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts designed to expand dual credit access, faculty capacity, and student success throughout the district.
• Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
