Job summary

Designer Brands in Houston, TX seeks a store associate focused on delivering an excellent customer experience. You will support management to drive sales, manage inventory, and execute omni-channel activities while maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain in-store experience by modeling CEL behaviors and supporting store goals.
• Ensure customers have a positive experience by upholding store standards and completing open/close tasks.
• Review daily communication, plan tasks, and follow through with required actions.
• Communicate daily progress and complete audits, donations, transfers, damages, etc.
• Assist with inventory, omni activities, and BOPIS as needed.
• Support leadership with timekeeping, coaching, and associate relations issues.

General Summary

Supports store management in all activities to drive sales and results. Partners with the management team on store priorities with a focus on in‑store customer experience, inventory management, omni activities and cashwrap efficiency while promoting a positive work environment and executing operational processes in compliance with company standards and policies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain in‑store experience by modeling Customer Experience Leader (CEL) behaviors and redirecting associate behaviors to achieve store goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Responsible for responding to customer and associate requests or feedback with a high sense of urgency.
• Ensure customers have a positive experience by maintaining DSW store standards. Complete all tasks related to daily open/close including store cleaning, recovery and maintenance standards.
• Review daily communication; plan and execute tasks throughout the day and follow through with required actions.

• Review, understand and clearly communicate daily progress.
• Complete processes as requested related to audits, donations, transfers, mismatches, damages, etc.
• Work closely with the store leadership team to understand and follow all policy and procedures.

Bring the power of shoes to life by leveraging in‑store and digital services

• Participate in inventory related activities including but not limited to freight receipt, product placement, markdowns, and mark out of stock (MOOS).
• Assist management with omni activities in store including but not limited to Charge/Send and Buy Online Pick Up In Store (BOPIS).
• Communicate supply needs to ensure successful operations in all areas of the business.

Be Responsible To Pause And Put The Customer First

• Help ensure a safe environment for both customers and associates. Ensure all equipment is in good operating condition and checked regularly by reporting issues to the Store Manager.
• Address associate and customer concerns and elevate as needed.
• Support the team in associate timekeeping activities.
• Provide feedback to the Store Manager on associate performance and communicate associate relations issues to the Store Manager for follow‑up.

• Recognize associates through the company recognition tools.
• Support the team by training and coaching associates.
• Perform all other associate duties within store.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or other leaders.
