Qualifications

• Must have compassion and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain CT driver's license, auto-registration and vehicle insurance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CPR/First Aid/PMT and medication certification are preferred.
• Part-time position with flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provides staff and natural supports to and implements services for each person served.
• Ensures residents are engaged in their community using natural supports.
• Supports individuals in home, finances, nutrition, and medical needs to the best of their ability.
• Works with Group Home Manager on goals of people served.
• Maintains residential settings according to physical standards; protects rights and dignity.
• Attends MARC training sessions (CPR, First Aid, PMT, Medication Certification) and keeps training current.
• Transports persons served in agency or personal vehicle as needed.

We are currently looking for a Direct Support Professional to help the people we are supporting in our group homes.MARC, Inc. is seeking dependable Direct Support Professionals for our Residential Department who will be responsible for assisting persons with developmental disabilities in their daily activities including taking care of their home, finances, proper nutrition, and medical needs to the best of their ability. They will develop natural supports and assist individuals with personal growth and reaching their goals. The ideal candidate will have compassion, previous experience assisting adults with special needs, strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good judgment.Requirements: Must have a valid CT Driver's License and vehicle with current CT registration and insurance, as driving is a requirement of the position. Must have a High School Diploma. CPR, First Aid, PMT and Med Certification are preferred.Part-Time position available; Flexible hours to include nights and weekends.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONDIBILITIES:Provides both staff and natural supports to and implements services for each person served.Ensures each person served becomes involved in their community utilizing natural supports.Support each person served in taking care of their home, finances, proper nutrition, and medical needs to the best of their ability.Work with the Group Home Manager on goals of people served.Ensures residential settings according to the physical standards at all times.Ensures that all persons served are accorded all their rights and responsibilities and are free from abuse or neglect.Ensures confidentiality and demonstrates positive attitude and behavior at all times so as to provide an appropriate role model for others.Attends all applicable MARC training sessions including CPR, First Aid, PMT, and Medication Certification. All trainings must be completed within six months of hire date or termination will follow.
