Job summary

Alternative Services – Oregon, Inc. (ASI-OR) is hiring a full-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) for the swing shift in the Gladstone/Milwaukie area.

You will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities using a person-centered approach, empower their independence, and provide compassionate care. The role includes community activities, daily living assistance, behavior support, and creating a calm, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with I/DD and managing challenging behaviors.
• Willingness to learn person-centered and behavior support strategies.
• Reliable driving and ability to provide mobility support.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in the community with walks, shopping, and activities.
• Assist with daily living skills including cooking, personal care, and household tasks.
• Provide behavior support using trained strategies.
• Create a calm, supportive environment and respond to changing needs.
• Encourage independence, choice, and personal goals.
