The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) IV: Residential Scheduler/Mealtime Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Residential Services (DRS). The DSP IV: Residential Scheduler/MTC Program Coordinator works closely with the DRS to ensure the Mealtime Coordination Process is followed, which includes the training, observation, data collection and review, and presentation of the Mealtime Coordination process. Works closely with the DRS to ensure residential master schedules are complete, accurate, and coverage of each home is met. The DSP IV Residential Scheduler/MTC Program Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of all training activities to ensure staff are appropriately oriented and trained. May serve as a liaison between the training department and residential units. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
This position is required to drive a state-owned vehicle.
Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain it no later than 90 days after hire date, is required. Applicants with an out-of-state driver's license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Eligible driving record required based on HHSC Fleet Management policy.
High school diploma or GED is preferred.
Two (2) years’ experience working in the field related to this position (working with people with developmental or physical disabilities).
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/ Entities (LEIE).
Males between the ages of 18-25 must be registered with the Selective Service.
All State Supported Living Center Employees are subject to Random Drug Testing.
Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position. The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
