About the Organization Our company was incorporated in 1984 within the State of North Carolina, and opened its doors for business in August of 1985. The company has continually grew to a point where we currently serve more than 600 individuals, and employ more than 1000 people across the state.

Skill Creations is a human services agency that operates three service divisions. The ICF Division provides specialized long‑term residential care to 191 individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in 15 different towns in North Carolina. The Community Operations Division provides residential and non‑residential services to persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in their home community. The Child Development Division, with two locations in Goldsboro, provides high quality child care and preschool for children ages birth - 5 years. One center also offers after school care through age 12.

Direct Support Professional

Part Time or Full Time (30+ hours per week earns benefits).

Seeking meaningful employment? Become a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with Skill Creations, Inc., a nonprofit agency helping people with disabilities meet their personal goals. The DSP works in the individual's home as well as in a community setting, providing care and support according to their specific needs and goals.

Due to personal care needs, DSP must be female.

6-36 hours available; 20 hr/wk available with one client, 6-16 hr/wk available with a second client. Employee could work both schedules or choose one of the two. More hours available in Asheville. Please specify the number of hours desired within your application.

Requirements

• Comfort with providing full incontinence care


• High School, GED, or College Transcript.


• Valid NC Driver's license and acceptable Driving Record.

• Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management.


• Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules, and data recording. Personal phone with internet access.


• Ability to remain on one's feet most of the time.


• Ability to lift 50 pounds, and to occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel.


• Prompt and regular attendance. Includes working during inclement weather and some holidays.


• Ability to meet client-specific needs. Due to personal care needs, this family is seeking a female DSP.
