Job summary

Home Care Network, Inc. is seeking a DoDD-certified DSP to provide hands-on personal care for a pediatric client in Seneca County, OH. The role requires at least one year of paid in-home care experience and an active DoDD certification.

Travel within Seneca County and adjacent areas is required, with flexible part-time or full-time hours possible. The position offers immediate start with daytime weekday shifts, mileage reimbursement, weekly pay, and opportunities for growth and certification

Qualifications

• Active DoDD Certification in good standing is required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications recommended and kept current.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care and assistance with ADLs including transfers and mobility.
• Support use of assistive devices (walkers, wheelchairs, lifts) when needed.
• Provide homemaking and environmental support (light housekeeping, errands) per plan of care.
• Coordinate transportation and appointments when approved.
• Document care accurately and maintain client confidentiality.
• Collaborate with care team and RN/therapist as required.

LOCATION + TRAVEL : Seneca County and surrounding areas

• Willingness to travel to/from client throughout Seneca Countyis required (30-45 minute radius)
• Willingness to travel to clients up to at least a 45-60 minute radius (from your home) is required if additional hours are desired, primarily consisting of surrounding areas in Seneca, Wood, and/or adjacent counties.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Part-Time or Full-Time available + desire forLong-term commitment (2+ years at HCN)

• Must be willing and able to start immediately with PT hours (approx. 20+ hrs/wk)
• 30-day build-up to additional Part-Time or Full-Time (32-40 hrs/wk) hours is available if desired (not required)

SCHEDULE :IMMEDIATE availability needed; requires Weekday - daytime schedule(exact start + end times are customizable).

STARTING PAY RATE:$15 - $19/hr

Home Care Network, Inc. is URGENTLY SEEKING an experienced, compassionate, and professional DoDD-Certified DSPto join our home health agency and provide hands-on personal care and support to a pediatric client in Seneca County, OH.

Responsibilities

• Personal care, hygiene and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including safe transfers, and mobility/positioning support
• Support safe use of assistive devices (walkers, wheelchairs, lifts) - as needed
• Homemaking & Environmental Support (IADLs) including light housekeeping, errands, and tasks required to maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment

Schedule Requirements & Options

• Immediate start with 20+ hours: part-time, weekday position requiring consistent availability .
  • Weekdays: daytime and evening shifts are required.

• Local travel within Marion + Richland Counties | Expanded cases/hours may include adjacent Counties

Requirements / Non-Negotiables

• Minimum of 1 year paid in-home care or caregiving experience (agency experience desirable but not required)
• Active DoDD Certification in good standing is required; 1+ years experience as DSP highly desired.
• Exceptional on-time and attendance record, and c onsistent availability aligned to your chosen schedule type (PT/FT/Hybrid).
• Active CPR + FA certification and documentation of both
• Character traits: reliable, honest beyond reproach, professional, compassionate, detail-oriented (in care + documentation), accountable, friendly and accommodating, respectful
• Willingness and ability to perform required physical demands (see below)
• Consent + Ability to pass a State & Federal background check (including fingerprints)
• 18yo + active Driver's License / State ID
• Reliable transportation to all scheduled visits, within full reach of stated travel radius

• Experience with:

• G-tubes / feeding support

• Seizure protocols

• Behavioral health or crisis response

• High School diploma or GED

• Active STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) or CNA certification, or p revious home health aide certification

• Previous home health experience (1-3 years)

• Familiarity with Medicaid waiver services

A successful DSP provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist in their region. You will be assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professionals and perform services for clients as necessary to maintain personal comfort and safety in their home.

Report to: RN Case Manager / Administrator / Director of Nursing

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Performs simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the therapist.

• Range of motion exercises
• Assistance in ambulation or exercises

Performs personal care activities, including but not limited to:

• Bathing
• Shampooing
• Skin care/nail care
• Oral hygiene
• Shaving
• Dressing

Performs household services essential to health care at home, including but not limited to:

• Meal preparation/feeding
• Laundry
• Light Housekeeping
• Assists in the patient in taking medications under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. This includes opening a container or pill caddy & handing it to the patient, but does not include administration of the medications.
• Knows and follows infection control policies, including proper hand washing techniques.
• Reports any observed or reported changes in the client's condition and/or needs to the Registered Nurse.
• Documents care provided and completes the forms required for the client's records. Completes the appropriate records to document cares given and pertinent observations.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients by observing infection control practices, following agency guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the Supervisor/Case Manager.
• Demonstrates safe practice in the use of equipment. Does not use equipment until orientation has been provided. Notifies supervisor of educational needs.
• Communicates effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team through verbal reports, participation in staff meetings, and team conferences, as requested.
• Treats patients and families with respect. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
• Accepts and fulfills assignments with the agency. Exercise good judgment in accepting assignments.
• Participates in required in-service programs to meet compliance requirements. Identifies learning needs to agency supervisor.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary
