Job description

Apply to join our team as we pioneer services at DSHS's Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health facility in Tukwila!
We are hiring innovative, empathetic, dedicated professionals ready to join our team for a new, cutting-edge career move. Our Patients and Staff need hope, compassion, and patience as we build bridges of trust and collaboration through consulting, teaching, and modeling. While this consultant concept was brought to life over 50 yrs. ago, it has been re-enlivened and applied to the state hospital model of care.
Our services provide comprehensive assessments and detailed recommendations to the respective treatment teams. These will include specific psychopharmacologic, medical, behavioral, and other evidence-based interventions and the relevant staff education and training to facilitate their implementations. Our Staff members provide direct care, specialized services, and evidence-based individual/group therapies to adults with severe psychiatric conditions.
Here is your opportunity to use your empathic engagement skills to be part of a robust and compassionate team that promotes recovery principles and develops therapeutic relationships with our staff and patients. This is an exciting opportunity for a meaningful career where you will have a chance every day to grow, enjoy the work you do, and help us in our mission of transforming lives together.
King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.
We are seeking Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners. Providing mental health care and accountability to forensic and civilly committed patients is an excellent role to expand your knowledge and experience with a variety of diverse and complex cases.
Working closely with a team of professionals to provide holistic care to our patients, your valuable expertise will provide input on how to promote recovery and well-being in partnership with the people we serve, bridging the gap between physical and behavioral health care.
With the assistance of your supporting team, you will serve as a colleague, practitioner, and consultant for patients diagnosed with behavioral health issues. If you have compassion for behavioral health advocacy and are looking for a career to use your education and experience to make an impact in your community, this is the perfect opportunity.

Some of what you will do
  • Provide consultation, medication evaluation, and oversight to a range of people experiencing behavioral health issues.
  • Serve as a psychiatric practitioner and a consultant for patients with psychiatric disorders and challenging behaviors.
  • Diagnose and treat acute behavioral health conditions or illnesses; prescribe medication, and monitor medication regime
  • Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary services for patients, collaborating with medical physicians, social workers, nurses, and rehabilitative therapists to ensure the patient's treatment plan is effective for each person
  • Deliver patient care, conduct status evaluations and assessments, and create diagnostic formulation
  • Monitor health care issues, consult with medical physicians, and refer for specialized medical care as needed

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctorate Degree in Nursing Practice meeting the Washington State Department of Health requirements for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner licensure.
  • A valid Washington State driver's license.
  • Annual TB Screen required.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Current National Provider Identifier.
