DSHS HCLA Home and Community Services is hiring two dedicated Nursing Care Consultants in the locations of Tacoma and Vancouver, WA.

In this role, you’ll help ensure that clients receive timely, responsive, and high-quality services tailored to their needs, abilities, and personal choices. Through thoughtful assessment and effective case management, you’ll support vulnerable Washingtonians in accessing accurate, respectful, and person-centered services while helping deliver Home and Community Services programs efficiently. Your work will make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families by connecting them with essential long‑term care services and community resources.

Who should apply

• Nursing professionals with valid Washington State license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• A bachelor’s degree with a major study in nursing and 3 years of clinical or functional nursing experience.
• A master’s degree in nursing and 2 years of clinical or functional nursing experience.

Desired

• Knowledge and expertise in principles and practices in long-term care services, social skills, time management skills, and interviewing techniques
• Experience in mental health and/or behavioral health services
• Ability to effectively communicate and educate staff, clients, and caregivers regarding medical information, nursing care issues, and the disease process

• Dual licensing for both Oregon and Washington at our Vancouver duty station is preferred
